Query of the Day

Am I the only one there who finds it strangely off-putting when someone of your own generation calls you "Dear?" Just wondering.

My husband's ex-wife used to call me "hon." If I had ever met her, I'd have taken her head off.

You're not the only one. I think "Hon" bothers me more though. And "Ma'am" just makes me feel OLD.

I call people "sweetie" but I haven't graduated to "dear" just yet. Except ironically.
