Simply Sickening

Good thing our illiterate president doesn't follow the news or we might be in for a whole new kind of Patriot Act!

Boys and girls, can you say "hypocrite?" How about "reprehensible fucking liars" then? Let's hear the loathsome Scott McClellan, Head Liar, speak for himself:

"We welcome a diversity of views at the [presidential speaking] events," White House spokesman McClellan said Tuesday, although in fact participants at the events are carefully screened and dissenting voices are rare.

Read the whole story here, if you have the stomach for it.

This is the kind of news story that makes me want to relinquish my American citizenship and swiftly flee to a country where the word "freedom" actually means something to its leader other than as a catch-phrase impudently employed to dupe a susceptible populus into voting for him.

Where would that country be? The one where "freedom actually means something to its leader other than as a catch-phrase..." Where would that fair land be which would permit individuals to speak their minds. It is not up to a leader in this country to protect our freedoms. It is up to each of us, whether we are citizens or not. By having your own site which many people can access, you are strengthening the very freedoms you worry about loosing. If you are not a "susceptible populus" then this country is in good hands. My suggestion is to keep this site open. To encourage criticism of the leadership, whether on the federal, state or local levels. One thing which bears a second thought, however, is giving up your U.S. citizenship. If you do, then perhaps others will follow your example and then where would the rest of us be?

And again, which country did you have in mind to move to?

The Swiss don't like Jews very much. The Dutch, while a wonderful people have co-opted former values due to Oil. The Danes also, don't currently like Jews. The Belgians, well, the Belgians have become first cousins to their German neighbors.

Where does a frustrated American go for more freedom?

It's akin to the Chinese limiting births, in that it is state-sponsored control of population.

It took me a while to read all of the links because the computers here are dodgy. But I agree that news journalism in America today is like a bunch of school kids running around following the group of kids who are about to fight. They just go where the biggest commotion is being made and amplify it.

I don't know about you, but my high school journalism class was filled with gossips, liars, and plagiarists. That made me question the integrity of news ever since, because these people are going to grow up become the media. And judging by the looks of it, they have already come into their own.
